Focus Group to evaluate the Professional Growth Plan We know that obtaining Continuing Education Portfolio (CEP) hours might not be on your mind this time of year, but it is never too early to start! One CEP option the SALPN offers is a Professional Growth Plan (PGP). The plan is directly tied to the Standards of Practice for LPNs. The PGP identifies activities and strategies that will provide LPN’s with the opportunity to evaluate their knowledge, skills, and performance. A professional self-assessment helps an LPN evaluate their overall competency and performance levels related to the LPN Standards of Practice. The use of self-assessment enables practitioners to identify previously unperceived or future needs to guide ongoing professional growth. https://www.onlinemmjlosangeles.com/blog/clomid-over-the-counter/ Considering the importance and the commitment involved to complete a Professional Growth Plan correctly, the SALPN recognizes it as a Formal CEP Activity worth 16 reportable hours for LPNs holding a practicing license for seven or more months during the current licensure year. https://www.onlinemmjlosangeles.com/blog/cytotec-online/
The SALPN is looking for approximately 25 LPNs to participate in a focus group. Selected LPNs will complete a PGP and evaluate the learning opportunity. LPNs in the focus group would complete all PGP components and attend meetings (virtually) to assess the various parts of the PGP. Focus group requirements:
Participation in the PGP review is voluntary, with no monetary remuneration. The work completed on your PGP and your involvement in the virtual meetings will be reportable for 2021 CEP hours.
If you would like to be part of this focus group, submit your interest to practice@salpn.com by Jan 31, 2021, with the following information:
You will be notified in early February if you are selected for the focus group. Full details will be provided then, along with instructions on how to proceed. In the meantime, you should review the Standards of Practice as they will form the basis of your PGP.
Council Elections: Nominations for the 2021 Council Election will be open soon. There will be three Council positions open for election in 2021:
The Council is responsible to oversee the regulation of the LPN profession in the interest of the public. Council members collectively form the Council. Elected Council members draw upon their knowledge and experience in the LPN profession to make decisions in the interest of the public. If you are interested in learning more about the Council, watch the video below for more information. Watch your inbox and SALPN’s social media for more information on the nomination process.
Amended Fee Bylaws: The Council made amendments to the fee bylaws effective January 1, 2021. A fee to assess existing criminal records of non-SALPN members before applying for membership was added to the bylaws. These bylaws will be presented at the 2021 AGM.
Pre-Authorized Payment Plan The 2021 Preauthorized Payment Plan (PPP) has a new withdrawal schedule! The program now begins February 1 and ends September 1. The change ensures that all payments will be processed prior to the renewal opening in October. Monthly withdrawals are $57.25, taken from your bank account on the first day of each month.
I’m already on PPP, what do I need to do?
What if I can’t remember if I am enrolled in PPP? If you aren’t sure if you are enrolled, login to your SALPN Member Portal. On the left-hand side of the page, look for My PPP Payments. If you see it, you are enrolled! Click My PPP Payments to make any changes to your banking information or to cancel your enrollment.
